Last 17th April, four First Q members gave in Berlin (Germany) a very interesting overview of our Low or Zero Carbon strategies in different projects across Europe. Mirjam Borowietz (ZWP Ingenieur) explained the strategy for the upgrading of the energy network for the Muenster hospital campus (660.000 m2). Helen Payne (BWB Consulting) shared their research on how to reduce carbon footprint in high rise residential buildings, where adding renewable energies is very difficult because of lack of roof space. Maria Perzon (Bengt Dahlgren) presented Hoppet! project, an initiative by the municipality of Goteborg that intends to design and built a completely fossil-free preliminary school. Finally, Juan Gallostra (JG Ingenieros) explained how logistic buildings in Spain are becoming an investment asset and, as such, sustainability certification is a required condition for the new projects being built.
Greenbuild Europe (16th-18th April 2018) has put together the latest initiatives in sustainability and wellbeing, under the patronage of the U.S. Green Building Council.
